The James Joyce
The Indy-Award winner is back, performing readings from James Joyce’s immortal novel, ULYSSES. Bloomsday, held each year on June 16, is an international event that for decades has helped lovers of literature and reading gather to share one of the English language’s classic books. Local and national actors are among the readers. Bloomsday will be at (naturally) the James Joyce Pub at 513 State St. Readings start at 6 pm, doors open at 5:30. Light snacks and happy-hour prices will be offered. There is no charge for the event, but listeners are asked to donate to the Santa Barbara Library Foundation to help promote reading of ALL books for ALL.
Among the readers are James Read, seen in many TV shows and movies over the years, and local actors Bill Egan, Matt Tavainini, Henry Brown, and Emma Jane Huerta. Other performers include local author and Indy columnist Starshine Roshell, SBIFF Director Roger Durling, local teacher James Claffey, and the Bloomsday producers, Jim Buckley and D.J. Palladino. There will be other special guests and performers, so join us for another great Bloomsday.
