Santa Barbara Poet Laureate Emeritus David Starkey will read from his new book of poems, Tell Me Why, at Tecolote Books, Saturday, July 12, from 3-4 p.m.
Starkey will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Eric Prothero, whose music will attempt to partner with, channel, and challenge the poetry in Tell Me Why, poems which Laura Mullen calls “image dense and delightfully irresponsible” and Gail Wronsky characterizes as “convincing, sometimes irreverent, poetic, and often downright fun.”
