The Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts is pleased to present a performance by Live-Looping Electric Cellist, Composer and Recording Artist Briana Tam.

Using her bare feet, her loop station, and her electric cello, Brianna Tam envelops listeners in her mesmerizing and dynamic symphonic realm while simultaneously capturing their hearts with her charming and charismatic personality.

Starting her solo career in 2021, Brianna has already performed abundantly for events ranging from an immersive headliner concert to a transcendent EDM show. In 2021, Brianna had the privilege of hosting a riveting TEDx Talk performance. In early 2023, she was selected as a Top Shelf performer for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest. Most recently, she was the recipient of a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the North Carolina Arts Council, which allowed her to engage in an Artist Residency with the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum.

Brianna’s gift of building worlds through sound translates into her compositions, with her score for feature film Wild Fire winning “Best Soundtrack” at the 2023 Red Dirt Film Festival. Brianna has also composed for the biopic Healing Waters (2022), as well as the game, The Gold Crow (2022). Brianna’s inspiring single, “Bioluminescence,” was awarded First Place for the 2022 International Songwriting Competition. Brianna composes for companies such as Bleeding Fingers, Eternal Music Group, and Artlist Original.
