On Monday, May 12, Taylor Tate, Executive Pastry Chef at Solvang’s peasants FEAST, will be hosting “Cakes for a Cause” — a one-night-only, art gallery-style event that brings together cake, creativity, and conversation around mental health in the hospitality industry.
Chef Taylor be creating five (5) deeply personal cakes, each inspired by the stories of chefs that she admires and respects:
Chefs Michael Cherney, Brad Mathews, Nik Ramirez, Levi Richard, and Jacob Town.
Through interviews and connection, their experiences shaped the cake flavors and designs — and she can’t wait to share them with guests.
Each cake will be auctioned off to benefit CHOW (@chow_org – Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness), and opportunity drawing tickets will be available for purchase for a chance to win prizes. Guests will be able to enjoy a cake flight, plus beer and wine — with all proceeds going to CHOW.
This is more than an event — it’s a love letter to the industry, and to the people in it.
