Mission Refill

Do you have a gorgeous candle vessel you would love to bring back to life? Good news, Mission Refill is hosting a Candle Refill Party with Golden Arrow Goods on Earth Day Weekend. Bring your own empty candle vessel, and we will supply a new wick and hand-pour the wax. Custom phthalate and paraben-free scent blends can be added and Golden Arrow Goods-crafted scents will be available. Candle pours will be priced by weight by oz.

Pour your candle by 4:00pm and pick up by 5:00pm or the following day.

As a courtesy, please RSVP so we can make sure to have enough supplies. https://www.goldenarrowgoods.com/event-details/candle-refill-party

Your vessel must be heat-resistant, completely clean of wax, and have the wick completely removed. For your safety, our candle expert may refuse to fill a vessel that does not meet these requirements. Vessels will also be available for purchase.

Here are some simple steps to cleaning out your candle vessels:

Freeze the Candle Jar: Place the candle jar in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. The freezing will cause the remaining wax to shrink and contract, making it easier to remove. Once the wax is frozen, use a butter knife or spoon to gently pry the wax out of the jar. It should come out in chunks. Be careful not to scratch the glass. If there’s still some wax residue left in the jar, you can use a paper towel or old cloth to wipe it out.

Boiling Water: You can pour boiling water into the jar to melt the remaining wax and then wipe it clean. Just be sure not to dump the wax water down your sink!!

In the Oven: Heat your oven to 150 degrees. Place the candle vessel on a cookie sheet and place in the oven for 15-30 minutes until all wax is melted. Carefully, using an oven mitt, pour out melted wax into trash – do not pour down your sink! Take a paper towel and wipe out remaining wax. Let cool before hand washing.

Clean with Warm, Soapy Water: After removing the wax, wash the jar with warm, soapy water to remove any remaining residue and scent. You can use a bottle brush or sponge to clean the interior thoroughly.
