Tour the University of California’s Salt Marsh Reserve.
Join Dr. Andrew Brooks, Director of the University of California’s Natural Reserve System’s Carpinteria Salt Marsh Reserve, for a two-hour walking tour of the salt marsh.
This is an excellent opportunity to experience the salt marsh and learn about the diverse array of amazing plants and animals that call the marsh home.
Dr. Brooks also will discuss current threats to the marsh and the impacts of the 2018 debris flow on the marsh.
Participants should meet at the gate to the UC Reserve at the end of Estero Way off Carpinteria Avenue at 1:00pm. Please bring water (no plastic bottles), a hat, and of course, binoculars and/or cameras. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate children under the age of 8.
This event is part of Santa Barbara’s 20th Annual Creek Week.
