Community Forum: “The Untold Story of Women of Color in the League of Women Voters.” Speaker: Carolyn Jefferson-Jenkins, introduced by LWVUS President Chris Carson. Wednesday, Feb. 19, noon-2 pm, followed by an Equali-Tea. Faulkner Gallery, Santa Barbara Central Library. Jefferson-Jenkins, author of a book which is the title of the forum, was the first and only black President of the national League.
The forum, which is co-sponsored by the Santa Barbara Public Library, is free and open to the public. The League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara joins Leagues across the country in observing the anniversary, with the theme “Women Power the Vote.”
Simultaneous Spanish translation will be provided. Accessible parking is available in the public garage on Anacapa St. next to the library. The forum will be live-streamed by TVSB via Facebook (@LWVSB) and videotaped for later viewing on the League’s YouTube Channel (see lwvsantabarbara.org).
