The Oak Group Presents – Celebrating the Protection of Nature

“For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.” – Jacques-Yves Cousteau.

Continuing their 37-year tradition of calling attention to and supporting the preservation of open spaces in the natural world through their artwork, the Oak Group members are proud to hold their Spring 2023 art show benefiting the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County.

Since 1985, the Land Trust has worked with willing landowners, public and private grants and other community organizations to protect, restore and manage open space, wildlife habitat, and agricultural land in Santa Barbara County. To date, they have protected over 31,890 acres of land and counting. Their vision is “a future with conserved lands throughout the county that engage and nourish human, plant, and animal life. These conserved lands include productive family farms and ranches that succeed from generation to generation, healthy habitats to sustain and harbor wildlife and plants, and beautiful trails and open spaces that provide recreational gateways accessible to all.”

The show will be held at the Santa Barbara Central Library’s Faulkner Gallery at 40 East Anapamu Street in downtown Santa Barbara and will run from May 2 through May 31, Tue.-Sat.: 10am-5pm. Closed Saturdays and Sundays.

A reception with the artists will be held in the Faulkner Gallery on First Thursday (May 4th), from 5:30 – 7:30pm.
