Almost Summer Sundays Plus! Event #1- Local author Valerie Hobbs will talk about and sign copies of her children’s book RUSTY on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at Chaucer’s Books (3321 State Street).
Rusty, half Border collie, half coyote doesn’t belong on the sheep ranch where he was born and where he is expected to learn sheepherding. He doesn’t quite belong with the coyote pack that reluctantly accepts him either. His senses are keen, he is faster even than his grandfather Jack, a purebred collie. Where does Rusty belong? Who will recognized him for the perfectly different being that he is?-from Valeriehobbs.com
Valerie Hobbs is the author of many award-winning books for young people. SHEEP, the story of a homeless border collie pup, won the California Young Reader Medal and was translated into Japanese. Schoolchildren all over Japan were introduced to this amazing little dog. WOLF, the sequel, followed o the same great reviews. RUSTY is the third of these books, the story of a coydog, half collie-half coyote with adventures all his own.
