CONTEMPLATION: Conceptual artwork takes a lot of thought on the front end. Abstraction is often spontaneous, with the artist allowing the process to inform the finished piece. This show embraces both approaches.
Featuring eight artists: Beth Schmohr, Charlie Patton, Laurie MacMillan, Mary Dee Thompson, Stephen Robeck, Nicki Sucec, Lorraine Lawson and Toni Scott.
10 West has three guest artists this month: Nicki Sucec, with conceptual sculpture. “This body of work is about loss and death and the temporary nature of life.” – Nicki Sucec. Toni Scott, a sculptor and painter, displays paintings in this show. Her work, whether figurative or abstract, voices the human spirit. Lorraine Lawson has painterly collages that explore messages through words, color and texture.
