Countering Compassion Fatigue: Self-care and Resilience in Stressful Times

November 14th, 2:00 – 5:00 PM PST
November 15th, 6:00 – 9:00 AM CST

To say that these are stressful times is an understatement. Whether it is fearing for our and our loved ones’ health, whether we feel a loss of a loved one, loss of financial security or loss of a secure sense of future and meaning, or the horror of watching our forests or homes burning, there is fear and upset in all domains of our lives. Some of us maybe first responders and experience trauma in our everyday work life or listening to the news may make us worried. It is not surprising that we find ourselves overwhelmed or numbing out, or physically or emotionally exhausted. In this workshop we will teach practices to counter compassion fatigue and show new ways to experience freshness and resilience of heart even in the most difficult of circumstances. We will give an understanding about the dynamics and symptoms of burnout, compassion fatigue and moral distress and teach practices and meditations that will allow you to bring healing and resilience into your life.
