Deke Dickerson is, plain and simple, an American roots music renaissance man.
Acclaimed author. Movie score producer. Record producer. Vintage music, instrument and lifestyle archivist. And world-renowned troubadour, playing in the traditional styles of rockabilly, country, Western swing, surf, and even garage rock and punk rock. Dickerson even owns his own vinyl record lathe. He is often billed as America’s Roots Music Super Hero — and that’s no hype. For all his accomplishments, the stage remains Dickerson’s true home.
When he takes the bandstand at the Deer Lodge in Ojai on Friday, Sept. 25 with his band The Whippersnappers, he’ll be doing what he loves most — carrying forward the proud tradition of American roots music.
This will be Dickerson’s first time performing at the historic Deer Lodge. Opening the show is LA’s John Surge & The Haymakers.
