Dia de los Muertos – Annual Giving Fest is an annual fundraiser supporting Healing Opportunities. A celebratory event, with a focus on colorful, elaborate ofrendas (altars), performance, music, dancing and community to honor loved ones who have passed on.
Of particular significance at this year’s event, we will present a special ofrenda to honor and remember our colleague and dear friend Rachil Vincent, who passed on in May. As our former Board President, her involvement was vital to Healing Opportunities for over 15 years, and the celebration of Dia de los Muertos was dear to her heart.
An Early Reception, prior to the celebratory Evening Program welcomes casual mingling and perusal of the ofrendas (altars). Guests are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones, and pets as well. A Kids’ Program offers entertainment, activities, healthy treats and a screening of the movie Coco. This event supports Healing Opportunities’ program to impact community health by reducing the negative effects of stress and trauma, with a focus on our caregiver population.
