Double Murder | Two Mystery Writers Suspected

Lida Sideris & Tony Piazza

Chaucer’s Bookstore is thrilled to bring back author, attorney and amateur sleuth, Lida Sideris, for the third suspense novel in her series, Southern California Mysteries. This newest installment, Murder: Double or Nothing promises more soft-boiled fun and frenzy.

And this time, Sideris brings an experienced accomplice with her for a dual launch and signing–Central Coast author, Tony Piazza, author of six of the ‘hard-boiled’ type mysteries.

In Murder– Double or Nothing, Sideris’ heroine, Corrie Locke, newbie lawyer and daughter of a late, great PI, is learning the ropes at the Hollywood movie studio where she works–and where things are never what they seem. Life imitates art when a fictional murder attempt turns real–right before her very eyes.

“…quirky, edgy and funny.”– Kerry Greenwood, author of the Phryne Fisher Mystery Series

Piazza’s newest, Murder in the Cards, is set at historic Hearst Castle. Hero Tom Logan and his wife Rita are invited to a Halloween party by influential and reclusive 1930s newspaper mogul Charles Randolph. In Randolph’s mysterious castle perched atop a winding Central Coast hill, Logan encounters an odd array of suspects. These include a film actor, a journalist, a comic, and a lawyer, any of whom might be the killer.

“A marvelous and mysterious trip through the craziness of Hollywood with a wide range of fascinating characters…a wonderful sleuthing adventure.”– M. Glenda Rosen, Author of the Senior Sleuth Mysteries

Lida Sideris hails from Southern California and worked as an entertainment attorney for a film studio. She shares her home with her family and an assortment of dogs and chickens. She was the recipient of the 2014 Helen McCloy/Mystery Writers of America scholarship for mystery writing.

Tony Piazza is a Central Coast mystery writer, film historian, presenter, and a veteran storyteller well-known for his passion for writing and movies.
