Earth Spirits Dancing with BobbySol!

~ Martha Graham ~BobbySol is our Minister of Music this Sunday. He says, “The energies that are inspiring my passion for the music I will be playing this Sunday are Earth spirits, for this journey I’m drawing on my connection with the natural world as well as the higher levels of spirit we reach in our bodies and in our being through music.

When composing the chaos parts of my set, I was thinking of the monkey and how it needs to be playful and go wild sometimes. There are definitely some sections of this journey that really open my spirit and move it to a higher level. I’m assuming others will have this experience as well.

What I love most about playing for ecstatic dance is that it provides us space to feel deeply into our body and souls through sound and music. This journey contains international rhythms with energetic Rock, Soul, and dance beats music.”

Minister of Music Bobby Sol was born and raised in Santa Barbara and has DJed in town for 25 years. His appreciation for music began at the age of five, and in the last two decades he’s studied musicianship, music production, dance, choir, as well as the violin, guitar, and keyboard. He’s been playing for Tribe since 2011, and currently he runs his own mobile DJ service. He says that ecstatic dance has opened him up to a world of music that crosses all genres. “I love how dances can go from high-energy to meditative and playful to quiet,” he says. In his sets he likes to weave together house, tribal, electronica, dubstep, R&B, ambient, and trance music.
