Having been a resident DJ at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City over the last 2 years, I have been exposed to emerging music genres that speak to younger generations than myself. It is my passion to create dance journeys that speak to multi-generations and cultures, from dub step to swing! Having traveled all over the world, I love the magical fusion music that blends dance beats with traditional sounds. And, basically, if it doesn’t move my butt… I doubt it will move yours!!!
Guest Minister of Music Heeraa is a passionate dancer and DJ who loves nothing better than rocking the floor into deep, soulful ecstasy with eclectic world beats. Producing and playing for raves in Kyoto, Japan in the 80’s led to exploring dance as meditation at the Osho ashram in Pune, India for 7 years. Committed to a life of exploring dance as a path to Presence, Heeraa founded Ecstatic Dance Hawaii in Honolulu, building and leading the community for over 12 years. A 5Rhythms dancer since 1997, Heeraa is now a certified 5Rhythms® Heartbeat teacher based loosely in Salt Lake, traveling and teaching globally.
Join us every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a community ecstatic dance journey at the Gail Towbes Center for Dance in Santa Barbara. No dance experience necessary. Everyone is welcome.
$15 suggested donation for adults and children over 5.
