A jazz superstar comes to The Grand on State! Saxaphonist Ernie Watts has been atop the jazz world for several decades, including long stints with the famed Charlie Haden-led West Coast Quintet and as a mainstay with The Tonight Show band on TV.
A two-time Grammy winner, he has recorded with dozens of legends, from Marvin Gaye and Barry White to Pat Metheny and Kurt Eling. He’ll lead a quintet that features local favorites Jeff Elliott (trumpet), Dick Weller (drums), Randy Tico (bass), and Tom Gastineau (piano).
Along with The Grand’s great French food and top-notch service, this is a jazz night not to be missed.
