St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church will host its annual Faith at the Edges Saturday Workshop on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s program, “Cultivating Compassion,” will be led by Dr. Frank Rogers Jr., the Muriel Bernice Roberts Professor of Spiritual Formation and Narrative Pedagogy at Claremont School of Theology and co-director of the Center for Engaged Compassion.

Rogers is a trained spiritual director and experienced retreat leader whose teaching joins contemplative practice, creativity, and social engagement. His work explores how compassion can be cultivated as a practice, how it can shape the way people engage the world’s needs, and how contemplative approaches can support healing from trauma. Participants can expect a day of reflection, story, and practical tools for living with greater compassion toward themselves and others.

The workshop is open to the public; no religious affiliation is required. Workshop, lunch and snacks are free of charge. St. Andrew’s is located at 4575 Auhay Dr, Santa Barbara. For more information or to register, call 805-967-6327 or office@standrewspcusa.org.
