Gritty folk artist Beau James Wilding will be releasing a new single entitled “Here There Be Dragons” with a performance at the brewLAB in Carpinteria to celebrate on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 6:30 – 8:3 PM. The single is the first drop from an upcoming EP of the same title, to be released in full on May 3, 2024.

Recorded at Castaway 7 Studios in Ventura, California, the track has an infectious, rough and ready energy thanks to the fast-paced acoustic guitar chords and rich, distorted electric guitar licks. The raw electric hum and high-octane nature of the performance is a perfect match for Beau’s gravelly vocal tones, balancing folk earnestness and punk-rock snarl. As the track progresses, listeners are treated to a warming harmonica melody and a momentous final chorus, energized by climactic percussion.

Beau reflects on the story behind the release, sharing, ”I wrote “Here There Be Dragons” at a very low point in my life. I wanted to write something to pick myself up off of the ground. I wanted to write something that reminded me I could fly. And ultimately, if I can remind myself I can fly, if I can choose to have hope, then maybe other people might be inspired to feel that as well.”

Beau is known for his emotionally charged shows which encompass tones of traditional folk and classic punk rock, tied together with a boisterous and determined spirit. Beau is joined by Tom Kenny (bodhran and shruti box) and Chad Martin (electric guitar and synthesizer) for a sonic landscape that is more than the sum of it’s parts. Fans of Tom Waits or Flogging Molly will greatly enjoy this . Stream Beau James Wilding on Spotify or your favorite streaming platform for a sample of past works.
