Food for the Wyrm/Beau James Wilding Vinyl Release

Food for the Wyrm (formerly Beau James Wilding) will be releasing their first full-length vinyl record entitled “A Wicked Huntsman” under the Food for the Wyrm name on Saturday, May 23. A party at brewLAB in Carpinteria will take place to celebrate the release.
Music is scheduled to begin around 4 PM. DJ Damohotep will be wetting your appetite for sound with a vinyl set before and in-between the live bands. Food for the Wyrm will be joined on this bill by Ventura County proto-metal legend ARDI and his band. ARDI always puts on a thrilling show in the vein of Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and Deep Purple. Opening the evening will be Wren Hunt, a folk-punk style project shepherded by long-time local Santa Barbara skateboard and farmer’s market legend Michael Kresky.
The record’s core tracks were originally recorded at Analogue Catalogue studios in Rathfriland, Ireland in the Summer of 2024 While the band was on tour over there to promote the Beau James Wilding EP, “here There Be Dragons”. Post production, overdubs and mixing took place at Castaway 7 Studios in Ventura and masters were completed in February of 2026.
The cover art was conceived by Beau and brought to life by Zein Hestnaes, a black metal artist out of Norway. It depicts a wise and strong female figure beckoning the viewer toward her. She is surrounded by six flowers, one to represent each of the core tracks on the record. Each flower is native to the Irish countryside, much like the songs. The album consists primarily of traditional ballads from the Irish folk tradition, re-imagined and re-arranged in a dark, atmospheric and drone heavy style. A limited release merch run will be available along with the vinyl.
The party will include a pop-up BBQ stand, and $1 off all beer pints as a part of the brewLAB’s Summer Kickoff customer appreciation festivities. brewLAB is a craft brewery dedicated to balancing tradition and innovation in the brewing process. They also make wine.
