“The Taste of Things” is a poignant celebration of love, culinary artistry, and independence in rural France in 1885. It follows the talented cook Eugenie, played by Juliette Binoche, who has spent two decades mastering gourmet dishes under the esteemed Dodin, portrayed by Benoît Magimel and directed by Anh Hung Tran.
As their professional partnership deepens, a tender romance develops, enhancing Eugenie’s culinary creations and captivating high-end chefs. However, Eugenie values her autonomy and resists marriage. In a heartfelt gesture to prove his commitment, Dodin embarks on a culinary journey, preparing elaborate meals to win her heart. Through this journey, they explore food flavors and the complexities of love and personal choices.
