Summer is winding down, school is back in session for many this week, and there’s still time to squeeze in one more Saturday morning gathering. The City of Goleta invites you to join us for Coffee & Community / Café y Comunidad next Saturday, August 29, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Rinkside Café at Ice in Paradise Skating Rink, located at 6985 Santa Felicia Drive. Spanish interpretation will also be available.

Come meet and chat with District 4 Councilmember Stuart Kasdin, Mayor Paula Perotte, and Goleta’s Chief of Police Services, Lt. Jarret Morris. Whether you have a question for the City, want to share an idea, or simply want to catch up with neighbors, this is a relaxed opportunity to connect with your community.

Councilmember Kasdin will welcome attendees around 9:30 a.m., followed by a discussion and an opportunity to ask questions about issues affecting western Goleta. Topics may include airport noise, housing, homelessness, traffic safety, and upcoming projects such as the Barnsdall Rio-Grande gas station.

And because we’re meeting at an ice rink in August, we have a few ways to beat the heat! Ice in Paradise is providing complimentary coffee (hot and iced) and muffins, activities for the kids, and free skate passes (skate rental not included). Kids can also put their creativity to work by helping Ice in Paradise name its new ice resurfacer! Submit a creative name suggestion for the machine that will glide across the rink’s ice for years to come.

Coffee & Community / Café y Comunidad events are held throughout the year in each of Goleta’s four districts. Not sure which district you live in?

Find out using the City’s interactive Know Your District Map: https://tinyurl.com/GoletaDistrictMap. Community members are invited to attend any Coffee & Community event regardless of which district you live in.

Mark your calendar for August 29 and come cool off with us! We hope to see you at Rinkside Café.
