About this event
“No two people experience health or dis-ease the same, which is why it’s pretty silly when we see social media or other online publications tout “”magic bullet”” approaches for supporting folks with cancer.
In this talk, we’ll go over some some key perspectives for thinking about oncology nutrition in a nuanced, bioindividualized way, discuss herbal and nutritional approaches that are simple and available in your home right now, and equip you with resources and tools to further your learning and exploration on this topic.”
Andrea Rossi is a trained community and clinical herbalist and holistic nutritionist and creator of the biz, Dirt & Bones, who whole-heartedly agrees with Mary Poppins that wellness is best served with a “spoonful of sugar” (aka fun & play), and believes interacting with plants is a portal to deeper self-possession and living a life on fire.
Prior to Dirt & Bones, she supported hundreds of clients one-on-one at an integrative clinic and through my own practice where she specialized in nutrition for folks with cancer and autoimmune illnesses (later going on to write an oncology nutrition curriculum).
She quickly realized that the way society talks about health is like how we talk about Santa Claus, this thing that just mysteriously exists…up until it doesn’t. We are at the whim of ‘experts,’ the fates, the weather….To her, this perspective leaves so much on the table, specifically the joy that comes from stepping into your own competencies around your corporeal form and learning how to shift and respond to the inevitable ebbs and flows of physically moving through life…so, she started Dirt & Bones.
Through illuminating new perspectives (with a laugh), approaching complex wellness problems with curiosity and play, and reveling in the range of your identity (you can love nature and Netflix imo), her role is to amplify and draw attention to your competencies so you can honor and move with the nature of your being.
Today, Dirt and Bones encourages multidimensional humans to be brave enough to be brilliant and sacrifice perfection in service of living more through using herbs and wellness as portals to living a life that is furiously fulfilling…and fun.
