POETRY as PORTAL to IMAGINING WORLDS
The Santa Barbara Public Library and the Mission Poetry Series welcome young creative writers (ages 14-19) to participate in a free and in-person poetry writing workshop with award-winning Xicanx author Crystal AC Salas. We will use the imagery of everyday life to create poems that re-imagine the world around us. Come daydream, then speak on it!
All participants will have a poem published in an outdoor Poetry Walk the library will create and display in our community. Registration required: https://library.santabarbaraca.gov/events/poetry-portal-imagining-worlds-eastside
Crystal AC Salas is a Xicanx poet, essayist, educator, and community organizer. Her chapbook Grief Logic is the co-winner of the inaugural Alta California Chapbook Prize, available in a bilingual edition from Gunpowder Press.
