Cocktail aficionado George Yatchisin will discuss how to turn your gardening space into a source of creative “cocktail-ery” with plants ranging from a wealth of citrus varieties to others that grow like weeds, such as borage and mint. He will also offer tips on how to become everyone’s favorite home bartender.
George wrote Edible Santa Barbara magazine’s “Drinkable Landscape” column for 13 yeas focusing on sustainable and very local cocktail ingredients. He is currently Santa Barbara’s Poet Laureate and author of Feast Days and The First Night We Thought the World Would End. As a journalist, he has worked for outlets like KCET Food Blog and the Santa Barbara Independent. His work is compiled on his blog, GeorgeEats.com. He retired as Director of Communications for UCSB’s Gevirtz Graduate School of Education in 2023.
Everyone is welcome to this FREE monthly meeting of the Santa Barbara County Horticultural Society. There is a plant raffle at the end of the meeting. Raffle tickets available at the door, where you can also join our Society. Member benefits include exclusive tours of local, private gardens.
