Arroyo Hondo Preserve

The Land Trust for Santa Barbara County and the Arroyo Hondo Preserve rely on a terrific group of volunteers for many special projects: working with us a public events, helping to prepare mailings, habitat restoration and trail-keeping. At Arroyo Hondo, our docents are invaluableand were looking for more enthusiastic nature-lovers to join our team! Soon after the first of the year, a training for new docents will be held at Arroyo Hondo. This is a great opportunity to really get to know our beautiful preserve, meet new people with like interests, and learn from the best. Docent training classes will be taught by Sally Isaacson, Education Coordinator, John Warner, Preserve Manager, and regional experts, on the history, botany, wildlife, and geology of the preserve. Training classes will be held seven Wednesdays, February 6th through March 20th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Trained docents lead weekend hikes for the public and work with local school children attending AHPs Environmental Education Programall are invited to our fun volunteer recognition BBQ each year! Please e-mail Sally Isaacson for more information or contact the Land Trust office at 805/966-4520.
