The sleepy Santa Ynez Valley community of Ballard will receive a new entertaining option courtesy of The Ballard Inn (@theballardinn) when the iconic Santa Barbara wine country lodging property reveals its newest facet, a second dining and bar concept located along the side of the Inn and entirely outdoors. On Monday, October 31, 2022 (Halloween), the Inn is inviting the community, visitors, and Halloween trick-or-treaters – for which Ballard is infamous – to “Halloween at Ballard Inn,” an open “haunted” house complete with family-friendly food and drinks, and a sneak peek at the Inn’s newest developments.
The Ballard Inn’s doors will open at 4:30 PM on October 31, with live music by the Chris Wabich Duo beginning at 5:00 PM. A Halloween walk-through of the Inn’s new design will include spooky and fun installations by the Inn’s creative director, Whitney Able Melnick of Santa Ynez Valley-based firm, R2PxDESIGN, and a Haunted House set-up for kids of all ages.
Chris Wabich, Grammy-nominated drummer and percussionist, will join Ronnie Shelton, dueling piano player, partnering to perform appropriately-themed Halloween hits and upbeat jazz in one of the Inn’s outdoor areas. The Inn’s new wood-fired oven will serve guests a preview of the coming-soon handcrafted pizzas and party nibbles, à la The Ballard Inn’s chefs Brendan Collins and Bailey Smith, plus seasonal salads and local wines.
