Celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday with us at our 3rd annual event! This year is bigger and better than ever (we’re talking 3 floors of magic and fun). For teens and adults, we’ll have advanced Harry Potter crafts like timeturners and niffler charm bottle necklaces, and a divination station with tarot readings with Mary Wessely (registration required).

For all ages, we’ll have a green screen quidditch photo booth, Family Feud style trivia (registration required), Charms class, where wizards will have the chance to practice Wingardium Leviosa by coding a drone, and Robot Quidditch games.

We’ll have two escape rooms: for adults and teens, they’ll be looking for their lost ticket for Hogwarts (registration required) and younger wizards will be trying to escape detention (registration requried).

There wil also be the chance to learn about live owls with the Santa Barbara Audobon Society, and view snakes and more with Sensational Pets. Join the UCSB Center for Science and Engineering Partnerships for Gilly Weed science experiments, and University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Santa Barbara County will be teaching herbology classes.

Kids will also be able to make up to eight different crafts, from designing their own wands to stamping clay creations. The night wouldn’t be complete without the chance to be sorted into house by the Sorting Hat, and everyone is encouraged to come in costume, and they’ll be a costume contest for adults, teens, and kids – judging will begin at 7:30 pm. Note the Library is closing for set up at 4:30 pm, and doors will open at 5:30 pm.
