October 2022 will mark Isla Vista Recreation and Park District’s 50th anniversary as an independent special park district, and to commemorate this historic occasion, IVRPD is excited to announce that it will be hosting the return of its Haunted Pumpkin Patch in creative partnership with Lucidity. IVRPD looks to build upon the popularity of last year’s Halloween event by bringing the Haunted Pumpkin Patch into the centrally located Anisq’Oyo’ Park in downtown Isla Vista for three nights, starting Saturday October 29th through Monday October 31st from 7pm-11pm nightly.

This free, outdoor event will feature an immersive theatrical experience with live-action story tellers, film screenings, carnival games and activities, two silent disco nights, a Ferris Wheel, Día de Los Muertos altars, costume contest, and a live Thriller flash mob performance by World Dance for Humanity.

IVRPD will also be hosting a 50th Anniversary Reception with a cake cutting ceremony on Halloween evening (Monday 10/31) from 5:30-6:30pm at the District Office located at 961 Embarcadero Del Mar. This reception is open to the public and all are welcome. Please bring your favorite stories, images, and memories of Isla Vista to share. A limited supply of souvenir memorabilia and cake will be available while supplies last.

This outdoor event is free admission and open to all ages, located in Anisq’Oyo’ Park at 950 Embarcadero Del Mar. The event has 4 access points: Embarcadero Del Mar x Pardall, Embarcadero del Mar x Seville, Embarcadero Del Mar x Madrid, and Embarcadero del Norte x Madrid. Please note that this event features special effects, theatrical lighting, and projection art by our talented event partners, the Environment Makers. The Haunted Pumpkin Patch is first come, first served and that free pumpkins will be provided while supplies last. Drugs, weapons, and alcohol are prohibited, and please no smoking or vaping. Guests are encouraged to access the park using bicycle, SB Metro lines 11, 24x, 27, or other means of alternative transportation. For ADA accommodations, please dial (805) 350-8751.
