Local singer-songwriter Jackson Gillies who appeared in the 2019 season of American Idol will release his debut album, “High and Low, on Friday, April 26 at the Alcazar Theatre in Carpinteria. The singer will perform songs from the album in its entirety followed by a set by Jax Plays Dead, celebrating the music of the Grateful Dead. Jackson burst onto the music scene at age 16 by winning the 2016 Teen Star USA competition in Santa Barbara. Since then he has performed with the likes of Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, and Jim Messina while raising funds for important causes.
