Mayor Randy Rowse To Light 25 Foot Holiday Tree on November 25

It’s time to ring in the holidays with a new tradition, Paseo Nuevo’s first annual tree lighting, on Friday, November 25! A 25 foot tree, adorned with thousands of decorations and lights, will be the centerpiece of a festive evening of holiday cheer as Paseo Nuevo is transformed into a magical winter wonderland, with snowfall, music, and a visit from Santa. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

The festivities begin at 5:30pm with a holiday tree lighting ceremony led by special guest, Santa Barbara Mayor Randy Rowse. Snowfall will then blanket Center Court, as it will every night through December 25, music will fill the Paseo, and entertainment will abound. The first 500 guests will receive complimentary light-up tree wands to illuminate the sky and assist in the tree lighting ceremony.

Guests can gather around the sparkling tree, sing along to live holiday music, and enjoy performances by local entertainment. Attendees will have the chance to meet and take photos with Santa Claus as he settles into his home for the month, Santa’s Cottage in Center Court. Photos with Santa are first come first serve, so be sure to come with your wishlist ready!  A second snowfall will finish out the holiday kick off event at 6:30pm.

Throughout the holiday season, guests can enjoy the spirit of the season with live music and costumed carolers roaming Paseo Nuevo, magical snowfall every evening from November 25 to December 31, excluding December 25, photos with Santa Claus, a gift wrapping station, and special events. Snowfall shows begin promptly at 5:30pm and 6:30pm, and may be canceled due to rain or heavy wind. Photos with Santa Claus will take place every day from November 25 to December 24.
