Elings Park presents three popular local musical groups in a family-friendly outdoor “Local Vibes” concert on Friday, September 8 starting at 5 p.m.

Local favorites Doublewide Kings play Americana, original music, and classic rock; Salty Strings reunites for genre-bending bluegrass; and Christian Love (son of Beach Boy Mike Love) and Company open the show.

Attendees are asked to bring blankets or low-backed chairs for seating. Food trucks on-site include Sassafras, serving “Elevated Comfort Food” (tri tip sandwiches, hot chicken nuggets, and grilled cheese, bacon, and fried egg sandwiches), and Big Truck Foods (grilled sandwiches, burgers, and loaded fries). Beer and wine are also for sale. A dance floor is available, and bubbles and beach balls are encouraged, but dogs are not allowed.

General admission tickets are $29 for adults, and free for kids 12 and younger. Tickets are available at https://elingspark.ticketsauce.com/e/local-vibes. Parking is limited and costs $10 per car. Ridesharing is encouraged. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Doublewide Kings present a blend of original works, acoustic Americana music, and high-energy classic rock favorites. The band recently sold-out four consecutive concerts at the Lobero Theatre, which included tributes to Neil Young; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; and the Allman Brothers; and showcased the Kings’ original compositions. Later this year, they appear with the Santa Barbara Symphony at the Granada Theatre in “Moondance,” dedicated to music by Van Morrison.

Salty Strings was formed in 2018 when guitarist Zach Witter posted on Craigslist looking for bluegrass players in the area. All five members sing, and their self-titled album (recorded in a garage-turned-studio on the Mesa) was released in February 2023. Elkin and Bastian have since moved to Colorado, and Kopecky travels the world researching coral reefs for his Ph.D. The band reunites for this show.

Christian and Company is the latest project of Santa Barbara guitarist and keyboardist Christian Love, son on Beach Boy Mike Love. He opens the show with his Central Coast-inspired rock and roll, reggae, and classic surf music.
