Hunter Hawkins is a singer-songwriter, actor and filmmaker whose work blends cinematic storytelling with emotionally rich songwriting. Having performed everywhere from dive bars in London and cafés in Paris to the Newport Folk Festival and New York City’s iconic Bitter End, Hawkins has built a reputation as a dynamic, multidisciplinary artist with an unmistakable creative voice.
On Friday, June 5, Hawkins celebrates the release of “Here Now,” the debut single from the forthcoming Red Van Records project Awake, produced by legendary singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins. The evening will also feature a special premiere screening of Awake: Pinky’s Journey, a 40-minute companion film written, directed, produced by, and starring Hawkins. Filmed throughout Santa Barbara County, including scenes at Kenny Loggins’ home and Alan Parsons’ Parsonic Studios property in Goleta, the project offers an immersive first look at the upcoming album before its official release. An acoustic performance from Hawkins will follow the screening.
In addition to sharing stages and recording alongside artists including Kenny Loggins, Bill Champlin, David Foster, Elliot Easton, Richard Marx, and Jeff Marx, Hawkins has earned acclaim in both music and film. Their debut EP, Phase, received critical praise in 2021, while recent film work has earned recognition at festivals across the country, including a 2025 Best Actor win at the Long Beach Underground Film Festival.
