Artist and Graphic Designer Cheryl Fontana, here aboard her co-owned 26-foot sailboat ‘SLEEPER”, is one of the many talented SCAPE painters preparing for the upcoming Benefit Art Show for the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum July 24-25th. A longtime member of the Maritime Museum and SCAPE, Cheryl’s the hand behind the beautiful promotional postcards and wine labels for the many local non-profits where she donates her time and talent.
Her earlier years as a medical illustrator and K-6 art teacher also provided room to stretch beyond to remodeling friends’ homes that became another vocation. And that’s not the end, all the while she has been honing her sports passions as a member of the Santa Barbara Ski Club and has been racing sailboats every Wednesday from March to October for over 35 years.

Our Harbor is where she sails out of and where she often paints, come see her and more than 150 local artists’ beautiful “IMAGES OF OUR MARITIME COMMUNITY” themed works this July 24 & 25th.

Sponsored by SCAPE

Southern California Artist Painting for the Environment was founded in 2002 and has grown to over 200 members, a diverse group including nationally known and local artists, students, patrons, and even gallery owners.

Membership is open to everyone who wants to participate, with 2 to 3 shows every year. Our goals are to have exhibitions to help raise money to protect open spaces, to increase public awareness of environmental and conservation issues, to promote camaraderie and provide education for artists.

Members participate in our paint-outs, workshops, exhibitions, and volunteer as board members or chair positions. Membership is open year-round.
