Over many years John McEuen worked on many special projects in the studios of both the Aspen Recording Society (Carpinteria) and Sound Design (Santa Barbara), many earning recognitions from various :film scores: Braving Alaska documentary for Nat’l Geographic Society Emmy Nomination An Actor’s Life directed by Alan ArkinThe Wild West 10 hour mini-series for Warner Bros. Television Emmy nominated albums:John McEuen String Wizards rave reviews John McEuen – String Wizards II Grammy Nominated Acoustic Traveller Vanguard Records Chief Jim Billie Alligator Tales Native American AwardsThe Music of the Wild West Western Heritage Award Even with all these projects in Carp he has never performed there! He is bringing his band he calls String Wizards to the Alcazar Theater Feb. 13 for the show described below, and looks forward to revisiting some of the special music and stories about his life (a founding member of Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), the Will the Circle Be Unbroken Album, all in a multi-media show that takes us all back to the good times when his iconic music was made – as well as some new music from the Americana Award winning Made in Brooklyn (Chesky Records) album. An added feature will be his son, Jonathan McEuen with special guest Nicola Winokur, joining in on things they are known for – and some surprises there, too!
