New programs at JAMS:
Ladies’ Strumming Social Club: held at JAMS nearly every Monday of the month from 5.30 pm to 7 pm. We planned on making the workshop bimonthly, but by popular demand, it will be held just about every week now, with the exception of April 11th.
In this ongoing workshop, women will learn the fundamentals of guitar, bass, ukulele, and even autoharp (each participant can select one of these instruments to play).
– learn how to play and sing popular songs together
– the common structures and progressions of popular songs
– how to transpose songs into different keys to accommodate their own vocal ranges
– how to improvise and play simple solos
– how to begin to play by ear
– how to play music with others
– and more…
Participants will have the opportunity to meet other local musically inclined women and connect socially as well as musically.
