Grab your boots and join us for a tour of Las Cumbres Ranch! This Santa Barbara County ranch focuses on the holistic management of Bonsmara cattle and the land they roam on. Operations Manager Stefan Selbert will lead a short walking tour of the beautiful grasslands while teaching the principles of regenerative grazing and holistic management. You will learn about the latest research and best practices for managing cattle to promote soil health, biodiversity, and ecological resilience.
The tour continues with an opportunity to see the cattle up close and in person! You will see the beautiful red ochre color of the Bonsmara cattle and learn about the characteristics that make this South African breed perfect for the California Central Coast.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to access the ranch and gain a hands-on understanding of how regenerative agriculture and holistic management can create a more sustainable cattle ranch. To make the most of this experience, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes suitable for uneven terrain and bringing a hat to provide shade from the sun.
A portion of the proceeds from the Taste of Santa Barbara will benefit the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts.
