Saturday December 21, Solstice is planning “LET IT GLOW” Winter Solstice lighted costume party in the 500-700 block of State Street. Participating State Street bars and restaurants will give a discount or a “Winter Solstice Special” to anyone who says “SOLSTICE!” Revelers are encouraged to wear winter whites and lights.
Between 5 and 10 pm party goers can drop in for a happy hour drink, pick up take-away food, and land at the “After” Party at Wylde Works from 7 to 10 pm. The Brasscals brass band will kick it off and take the party down the street at Longoria between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.
Artist Pali X Mano’s giant inflatable sculpture will light up the night, as will light projections by Jon Smith of The Environment Makers featuring the artwork of internationally acclaimed art director Larry Vigon. Available for purchase will be some simple lighted costume-wear. On that same night Fishbon, another local arts group will be doing their “Santa-Con” pub crawl and will most likely get in the mix with Solstice crew somewhere in the 600 block of State
