Artist of the Month, June 2022
Title of show: Beauty & Tranquility
Suemae draws inspiration from the beauty and tranquility of traditional Chinese subjects like landscapes, bamboo, pines, and florals. Suemae employs delicate fine lines and dynamic brush strokes to evoke feelings of peace and harmony in her paintings. Suemae believes that she was born to be an artist and that the magic happens if you let it, surrendering herself to the brush.
Artist Reception: 1st Thursday, June 2, 5-8pm.

Suemae Will give live painting demonstrations on June 18, 1-4 pm in Gallery 113.
Suemae has been teaching Chinese calligraphy & brush painting since 2008 at the Santa Barbara City College, School of Extended Learning. She is filled with joy in creating art and sharing this beautiful ancient practice with the Santa Barbara community.
