The Lompoc Valley Botanic and Horticultural Society (LVBHS) will hold its general meeting at the Burton Mesa Chaparral Garden, followed by a free guided tour of the same. Also known as the Lompoc Botanic Garden, it offers a variety of species uniquely adapted to life on California’s central coast. This is an unstructured garden, where plants can grow naturally, without significant human intervention. If joining the garden tour, we recommend you wear protective clothes and closed-toe shoes.

LVBHS was formed in 1977 as a community support group for the Burton Mesa Chaparral Garden, overseeing the maintenance of paths and signs. Through the years, the Society has grown to include other horticultural activities, but maintains a strong interest in plants native to Santa Barbara County.

LVBHS is a nonprofit association and membership is open to anyone with an interest in plants. Activities are held throughout the year and volunteer opportunities are always available. Ask us about our membership special for new members. Come meet like-minded people and cultivate more than just plants!
