Lucinda Lane Returns to

Lucinda Lane, Santa Barbara’s premiere self-described “IndieBossaJazzTwang” band, returns to SOhO in the new year, on Monday, January 22 (7:30 p.m.). The Lane released its long-awaited debut album, Summer is Over, a year ago. It’s all over the digi-verse, and actual CDs are available for purchase and signage at the show & on assorted portals. New one in the works…

Core members Nicole Lvoff (voice) and Joe Woodard (guitars, songs) will be joined by the rhythm section team of bassist Jim Connolly and drummer Craig Thatcher, saxist John Schnackenberg, trumpeter Phil Rodriguez and accordionist Brian Mann. And more tba?

Lvoff is a seasoned jazz singer, who has just released her second album, The Nearness of You (www.nicolelvoff.com) and Woodard’s list of musical project includes Headless Household, flapping, Flapping, A Mother Country and variations incarnations in solo artist mode. He recently released his second solo guitar album, The Fine Art of Forgetting, on Household Ink.

Lucinda Land’s Summer is Over relied on the kindness of talented friends to help out, including Zach Gill, Bill Flores, Tom Ball, Brian Mann, Nate Birkey (cool fire on “Soft as an Easy Chair (for KC)”), David Binney (burning it up on “Bedeviled”), Tom Buckner, Randy Tico, Austin Beede, Jim Connolly, Liz Barnitz, Lorenzo Martinez and more. Lvoff and Woodard are currently preparing the kitchen to cook up a follow-up album, hopefully to be released by year’s end.

But here we are: summer will have just begun, and LL music beckons.
