Luis Muñoz celebrates birthday with new LP

Costa Rican composer/ producer and multi instrumentalist Luis Munoz, a Santa Barbara resident for 48 years, fresh from from his latest tour to Latin America, will be touring this Summer and Fall in the US, in celebration and support of his brand new LP “Glimmering Path”.  This will be Muñoz’s return to CA after a 4 year absence. Muñoz will be doing 4 dates in the Central Coast with a a Santa Barbara  all star band which will include Guyanese singer Lois Mahalia (Michael Mc Donald, Kenny Loggins, Joe Walsh, etc.), keyboard players George Friedenthal,, bassist Randy Tico and guitarist Dan Zimmerman. Featured last month in NPR’s  “ Best New Music” round-up, “Glimmering Path” is a collection of seven new compositions by Luis, which gather influences from an entire gamut of music : from early Weather Report and Claude Debussy to Bjork, Genesis to Aretha Franklin , En Vogue to Mahalia Jackson, Merle Haggard to Miles Davis, Astor Piazzolla to Jeff Beck.
