Whether you’re a lifelong Buddhist or are curious about Buddhism come join the Buddhist Church of Santa Barbara (BCSB)’s new Lunch and Learn Series: Buddhism and Pop Culture.
Join us at our picturesque temple on Santa Barbara’s Eastside on Saturday March 8th at 10 am for a Buddhist service that includes moments to quiet the mind, chanting of traditional texts called sutras, and hearing a dharma message. At 11am, we’ll explore the theme Perception and Perspective in Buddhism by looking at and discussing clips from movies like Star Wars and Flashdance, and will answer any questions you have about Buddhism. A complimentary lunch with refreshments will be served.
BCSB is part of the 800-year-old Jodo Shinshu tradition of Japanese Pure Land Buddhism and has been rooted in Santa Barbara since 1913.
