Join Emily Watson, local clinical herbalist and founder of the Artemisia Academy of Herbal Arts & Healing, to learn about the medicinal and edible plants of the Gaviota Coast. During this talk, you will learn about the folk, medicinal, and culinary uses of herbs, trees, and shrubs that grow in our own backyard. Safe plant id and ethical wild crafting will be taught, along with easy to make herbal remedies for everyday ailments. Discover how plants can help for aches and pains, how they can support dreams and digestion, and where you can purchase these herbs sustainably or grow them at home!

Emily Watson is a certified “herb nerd” who loves connecting people with their own personal plant allies and their healer within. Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Emily has a passion for the California mountains and the stories of the plants and people that came before us. Her hope is to pass on the knowledge of sustainable living with practical entrepreneurial skills, so that herbalists can create thriving practices that fully support themselves, their land, and their community.
