Monpa Medicinal Plants, Indigenous Knowledge from a Himalayan Healer by Dawn A. Murray, PhD, is a beautiful book about the Monpas, the Indigenous people of Bhutan. The book illuminates the Himalayan medicinal plants the Monpas use for healing, sharing generational knowledge about their ecosystem. With colorful and delicate botanical watercolors and photographs of the people and the place, you get a sense of the magic of the culture and the sacred mountains in Bhutan. The Monpas have intimate relationships with the plants and the land and cultural practices that we hope inspire you to learn more about Indigenous wisdom, nature, and living in harmony with nature and each other.
