Join Inside Wine Santa Barbara on August 13th at noon for a ‘soft open’ of La Lieff Wines–the newest tasting room in the Funk Zone.

In 2019 proprietor Gretchen Lieff changed focus from making a bold Bordeaux-style Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa to Rhône varietals crafted on the Central Coast devoting the winery to honor Gaia the Goddess of the Earth and protector of our earth, its people land and animals. Eco-friendly and delicious her wines have been winning accolades like a 92 point rating from Wine Enthusiast.

Chef extaordinaire Nimita (of Nimita’s Cuisine) will provide a nourishing farmers-market-fresh lunch!

We will taste the La Lieff Wines sauvignon blanc French-style rosé California-style rosé grenache and their syrah or grenache/syrah blend.

La Lieff Wines has deep roots that originated in the famed “dust” of Rutherford CA on a rocky outcrop above Auberge du Soleil. The Lieff Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon was named one of the ‘Big Guns of Napa Valley’ (Wine Spectator 2015).

This esteemed Napa winery left Napa Valley for the dynamic California Central Coast and changed its direction toward Rhône varietals with the purchase of a ranch in San Louis Obispo County growing grenache syrah and sauvignon blanc. This beckoned a new and exciting frontier for La Lieff Wines!
