Come out to Bart’s Books for an author talk and book signing on Saturday, June 25th at 6pm with Obi Kaufmann as he shares his latest book The Coasts of California. This event is held outdoors and free and open to the public.

Building upon his #1 Regional Bestselling book, California Field Atlas, The Coasts of California is bursting with color in Kaufmann’s signature style, fusing science with art and pure poetic reverie. With hundreds of gorgeous watercolor maps and illustrations, Kaufmann explores the rhythms of the tides, the lives of sea creatures, the shifting of rocks and sand, and the special habitats found on California’s islands. This book is sure to bring joy to any coast lover.

Obi Kaufmann is a naturalist, a painter, and a poet who shares his view of the golden state as a magic network of living systems that connect in a grand quilt of ecology and beauty. An avid conservationist, Obi regularly travels around California presenting his work and vision to such groups as The California Native Plant Society and the Wilderness Society. He sits on the board of the Wilderness Coalition and won the 2019 Mark Dubois Award presented by Friends of the River.
