Beloved, Jazz, and Paradise by Toni Morrison

Jazz is the second of three novels about love and African-American history. Morrison said that they are intended to be read together, explaining, “The conceptual connection is the search for the beloved – the part of the self that is you, and loves you, and is always there for you.” In 1993, she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
