Opening Reception: Scaling the Walls

Scaling the Walls, a new exhibition exploring the history and contemporary practice of muralism, opens Thursday, May 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Channing Peake Gallery (105 E. Anapamu St.). Channing Peake Gallery features new murals by artists and organizations from across the county, including Allan Hancock College, Carpinteria Arts Center, Cheri Owen, Corazón del Pueblo, Helen Yanez, John Khus, and the UCSB College of Creative Studies Social Print Lab. Together, the exhibition reflects the lasting cultural impact of muralism and its continued role in shaping public art across Santa Barbara County.
