Meet and Greets :
UNDOCUFUND/UNDOCU805 10AM TO 12NOON- the programs aim is to involve undocumented residents of California’s Central Coast in advocating for fair access to culturally sensitive disaster response and preparedness information, financial aid, and recovery resources during disasters.
NATIONAL BROWN BERETS 2PM TO 4PM- Step into the legacy of the National Brown Berets, a dynamic group born from the vibrant neighborhoods of the Southwest. With a vision for self-determination and drawing inspiration from organizations like the Black Panthers, these dedicated advocates sparked a powerful movement. They committed themselves to tackling systemic injustices head-on: fighting for fair education, challenging police brutality, and pushing for vital political representation, healthcare access, and worker rights within Chicano communities.

About Ortega Park Steering Committee-
Established in March 2021 during the pandemic, #OccupyOrtegaPark evolved into the Ortega Park Steering Committee. This collective of artists and educators engages the community through culturally rich activities, sharing information for a healthier society, and networking with local services. We use the park’s murals to teach cultural history and green spaces to foster neighborhood pride and safety. A highlight was affiliating with Chicano Park San Diego in August 2021, a cultural landmark since 1971.
